Abstract
The DTT Office of the Scientific Director establishes the vision, mission, and strategic direction of the division and provides administrative and operational support for DTT, ensuring the availability of personnel and fiscal resources to deliver on the strategic mission. This is accomplished by collaborative work across four offices: The Office of Program Operations provides tactical support for the DTT research portfolio by coordinating and managing contract and interagency agreement (IAA) research budgets and services, acquiring technical capabilities, and directing and managing the work of DTTs contract research organizations. The office is responsible for the formation, management, and execution of the division's intramural and Research and Development budgets. The office provides project management expertise and delivers certain shared services like chemistry support and development and maintenance of DTT public and internal websites. The office continued to progress the establishment of new contracts and IAAs to support DTT research and to develop project management infrastructure. The Office of Policy, Review, and Outreach serves as the primary interface between external stakeholders and both DTT and the National Toxicology Program (NTP). The office provides oversight for science policy, advisory groups, and communications and manages external peer-review processes for primary products such as reports and monographs. The Office of Portfolio Strategy and Research Management provides leadership and support for strategic research planning, program development, and portfolio management in execution of DTTs mission to improve public health through development of data and knowledge that are translatable, predictive, and timely. This office designs and optimizes a portfolio structure with a program management and governance framework that aligns DTT research projects with strategic initiatives, improves operational efficiency, and maximizes public health impact. The Office of Administrative and Business Services serves as the focal point for administrative and operational support for all offices and branches in the division in areas such as personnel, procurement, and travel. This office also serves as a focal point for DTT workforce development and the DTT Training Fellowship Program. This office implemented travel support software and progressed a workforce development strategy.
