Abstract

We were able to: 1) publish findings showing that bone mesenchymal stromal cells contribute CXCL1 to the bone metastasis microenvironment and targeting it can suppress tumor growth in bone; 2) we were able to identify that human female compared to male neutrophils display different activation mediators and this can be regulated by androgens; 3) we were able to confirm that neutrophils engage with prostate cancer cells in vivo and we now have several mouse models targeting specific components (Tgf beta receptor 1, androgen receptor) that can dictate how neutrophils respond (whether they induce cancer cell death or are desensitized and stop engaging)
