Abstract

The study (IRB002351, SRC0001894) received approval from the NCI SRC in January 2025. Following this, work supported by NCI CCR, FNLCR, Emmes, Roche, and collaborating teams in Malawi and Kenya was continuing to finalize preparations for study start-up, arrange logistics for medicine labeling and shipping, prepare required IRB submissions, finalize case report forms, finalize clinical trial agreements, and finalize DSMB contracts and charter. Unfortunately, because of mandatory contract reductions that were imposed on the NCI following the change in administration, a stop work order was subsequently issued in April 2025, following which all further study development activities have been paused. Possibilities for resumption are being actively pursued.
