Abstract
Our research into resistance in lethal prostate cancer unfolds across three complementary approaches. We begin by leveraging both immunocompromised and humanized mouse models to track how metastatic cells home to specific organs and acquire treatment-resistant traits once tumors establish and recur. At the same time, we examine patient-derived tumor specimens from those receiving standard and novel therapies, integrating genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic analyses to pinpoint the molecular factors that dictate treatment outcome in genitourinary cancers. Finally, we carry out in vitro studies, testing candidate pathways under controlled conditions to validate and explore potential mechanisms of resistance.
