Abstract

Advancing its successful multidisciplinary collaborative program with the Division of Cancer Prevention, CAPR developed 3 novel GEM models for ovarian cancer that reflect the development of high-grade serous ovarian cancer from fallopian tube epithelium, the currently accepted site of origin for this type of malignancy. These models have been furthermore adapted to syngeneic allograft modeling format, thus addressing a need for immunocompetent tractable models for preclinical research. By extensive expression profiling and comparative transcriptomics, novel models have been demonstrated as being highly representative of ovarian malignancies originating in human patients and are thus valuable preclinical resources for the scientific community and cancer drug developers. A manuscript describing these important results is under review by eLife journal.
