Abstract

Our paper on the software package ShiftScan was developed to respond to internal demands for rapid processing of high throughput biophysical data from differential scanning fluorimetry assays. The resultant software is extremely rapid for processing the large data sets that are generated. It has been distributed ion GitHub and has been downloaded numerous times in the short time since publication. The second project is an analysis of all validated metagenomes of lichens. We expect that it may generate interest in both the lichen community and natural products community since it identifies many biosynthetic gene clusters in the data that may produce novel small molecules, which might be obtained by current synthetic biology techniques.
