Abstract
The overall goals of this project are to define the processes and molecules participating in the radiation-induced translational control of gene expression and their role in determining radiosensitivity. Towards this end, an aim of the ongoing research is to determine the contribution of microRNA (miRNA) to radiation-induced post transcriptional control. These studies focused on defining the effects of radiation on the miRNAs bound to AGO2, which corresponds of active miRNA, a measure not discernable from analyses of the total miRNA pool.
