Abstract
The Misteli laboratory continues to elucidate how genomes function in health and disease. In particular, we are exploring how genomes function in time and space. We are using high-throughput imaging methods to map genomes in 3D space and we are using molecular tools to establish how the organization of genomes affects their function in healthy cells and how changes in genome organization lead to aberrant gene expression in disease, particularly cancer and the premature aging disease Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome (HGPS).
