Abstract

In the current funding period, we have continued to characterize the performance of the background rats on several cognitive tests that will be used. In initial testing on sensory preconditioning, which was completed and analyzed, we have found that the background population performed normally like Long-Evans controls that we normally used. These data are currently part of a draft manuscript with Dr Harvey. Additionally we have contributed to support for ongoing work to develop an improved version of the HIV rodent model for the next round of testing. Finally we have updated behavioral testing equipment after the unexpected closure of one of our suppliers.
