Abstract

From July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, five new subjects enrolled onto the protocol but one was ineligible to participate. To date, a total of 130 healthy volunteers have enrolled and signed informed consent to donate granulocytes, including 63 active and 67 inactive participants. During this time, 11 donors donated a total of 13 products for three recipients. Most active donors did not donate due to lack of need, scheduling conflicts, or ABO or HLA incompatibilities. Overall, donor attrition was due to age > 75 years (n=2) or loss of interest other than for a specific (related) patient. In all of the collection procedures, donors were stimulated with G-CSF only. Donors reported symptoms included bone pain, irritability, fatigue, fever, chills, and nausea. These effects were expected consequences of G-CSF and/or dexamethasone administration and are described in the protocol and the consent.
