Abstract

During the past fiscal year, we successfully completed patient recruitment at our first site (Inova Fairfax). Recruitment resulted in the establishment of the study biorepository consisting of serum, plasma, whole blood samples. In addition, the associated clinical data related to heart failure characteristics and patient demographics were successfully delivered to NHLBI. The Inova Fairfax site was then successfully closed out. Currently, we are preparing to launch recruitment at our second site at the University of Maryland in September. We have established weekly team meetings with key stakeholders (i.e., clinicians, research coordinators, epidemiologists, and biostatisticians) to facilitate a successful site launch.
