Abstract
The goal of this Fast-Track SBIR is to manufacture Chronos: a dedicated instrument for image- based dynamic, functional single-cell analysis for use with the CellChorus® TIMING⢠(Time- Lapse Imaging Microscopy In Nanowell Grids) platform. The TIMING technological platform is also being validated by academic and commercial entities through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and commercial contracts through the CellChorus Early Access Program, including new abstracts and publications by CellChorus and the lab from which we spun out. Importantly, a recent publication in Nature Cancer shows that TIMING can be used to identify the most potent cytolytic CAR T cells among populations of infusion products (Rezvan et al, Nat Cancer 2024). TIMING encompasses 1) plating cells in nanowells arrayed in grids of 5,000-10,000 nanowells; 2) rapid and gentle time-lapse imaging over hours with multiple light channels; and 3) AI-powered analysis of cell behaviors. This project addresses the second part of the platform (2) by creation of Chronos, an enclosed imager with the key features needed for users to very easily run TIMING assays without needing advanced microscopy training.
