Abstract

OVERALL PROJECT SUMMARY/ABSTRACT During the 2025-2030 period, New Hampshire Public Health Laboratories (NH PHL) intends to maintain and enhance the capabilities of human and animal food testing laboratories in support of an integrated food safety system (IFSS). This objective will be accomplished through prioritized sample testing and food defense preparedness, with guidance from FDA LFFM. The multicomponent grant with fifteen projects will strengthen and improve NH PHL’s efforts to prevent foodborne illnesses and minimize foodborne exposures by supporting a nationally integrated network, and equipping NH PHL to serve as a resource capable of increasing sample throughput capacity within the state and nationally. NH PHL proposes a total of 15 projects comprised of the following: Discipline A: Microbiology Track A1: Human Food Product Testing (500 analyses) Track A2: NARMS Product Testing (150 analyses) Track A3: Animal Food Product Testing (100 analyses) Track A4: Whole Genome Sequencing – Maintenance Track A6: Food Defense Track A7: Method Development/Validation Track A8: Capacity/Capability Development Discipline B: Chemistry Track B1: Human Food Product Testing (500 analyses) Track B2: Animal Food Product Testing (100 analyses) Track B3: Food Defense Track B4: Method Development/Validation Track B5: Capacity/Capability Development Discipline C: Radiochemistry Track C1: Food Defense Track C2: Method Development/Validation Track C3: Capacity/Capability Development
