Abstract

PROJECT SUMMARY The South Dakota Animal Disease Research and Diagnostic Laboratory at South Dakota State University will develop and coordinate a routine environmental sampling program within university production facilities of dairy products, cereal grains, seeds, and legumes. All samples will be cultured for 3 priority foodborne bacterial pathogens (Salmonella spp., Cronobacter spp., and Listeria monocytogenes), sequencing any pathogens isolated. The sequencing data will be uploaded to NCBI with appropriate metadata.
