Abstract
COMMUNICATION AND DISSEMINATION CORE (CORE C): REVISED PROJECT SUMMARY/ABSTRACT The Communication and Dissemination Core (Core C) is integral to the mission of the Center on Healthy Aging Behaviors and Longitudinal InvestigationS (CHABLIS), serving as the primary conduit for sharing the Centerâs research, activities, and achievements across a broad range of audiences. This Core is designed to communicate effectively across academic disciplines, career stages, institutions, and audiences, including researchers, policymakers, health care providers, and the broader public. By fostering transparency, collaboration, and visibility, the Core will advance the Centerâs goals, support ongoing research, and highlight key findings to maximize engagement and influence to advance health. Over the past five years, the Center has developed key infrastructure to support communication and dissemination activities, including: 1) a Center website that includes a list of Center Members, pilot projects, accomplishments, and events; 2) a Center newsletter and listserv, that reaches all Center Members and networks and advertises funding opportunities, events, and accomplishments; 3) an annual meeting for the Collaborative for Innovation in Data and Measurement on Aging (CIDMA); and 4) systems for tracking and reporting metrics to the NIA P30 Coordinating Center. In the next iteration of the Center, with the development of a standalone Core for Communications and Dissemination, we enhance and build upon this existing infrastructure to share updates on the Centerâs activities and accomplishments, expand the Centerâs reach and impact, and foster collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, including researchers, policymakers, and the general public. We also establish a new External Engagement Stakeholder Committee that will be chaired by Core C PI V. Joseph Hotz and will include liaisons at research-active institutions (RAIs) and IdeA state institutions who will advise on strategies for communication and dissemination to maximize our reach to researchers at these institutions.
