Abstract
OTHER PROJECT INFORMATION â Revised Project Summary/Abstract Core C â Communication and Dissemination Core The dissemination core publicizes the findings of Center research through working papers, academic publications, non-technical articles and reports, social media, a website, and conferences. The NBER has a long-established working paper series in which many of the academic research papers of Center investigators and others appear, prior to formal publication in an academic journal. NBER working papers are circulated widely among the community of professional economists worldwide, as well as academic libraries, providing for early release and widespread dissemination of all research findings. Over 1200 NBER Working Papers are released annually; more than 100 feature health and aging research, much of it conducted through the Center and related NIA grants. A feature product of the dissemination core is a health-focused newsletter: the NBER Bulletin on Health. Published three times per year, the Bulletin features non-technical summaries of the NBERâs health related research. The Bulletin has about 10,000 subscribers, including the press, interest groups, government and business. An important motivation is to inspire articles about NBER research in newspapers and other periodicals, and to encourage discussion of NBER research in business and policy circles throughout the United States and abroad. To further publicize research results, we post prominent findings on Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and BlueSky, and we have a video series on the NBER website called NBER Research Spotlight.
