Abstract
CAF ADMINISTRATIVE AND RESEARCH SUPPORT CORE: REVISED PROJECT SUMMARY The Administrative and Research Support Core of the Center for Aging Families (CAF) establishes and manages internal governance and external oversight; implements evaluation and strategic planning; and is responsible for required tracking and compliance. The Core also provides funding and administrative support for affiliates using two important research resources at Ohio State University (OSU), the federal statistics research data center and the American Population Panel. The Administrative and Research Support Core thus makes crucial contributions to CAFâs overall goals of advancing research on the demography and economics of aging focusing on three themes related to aging families: the changing demography of aging families, aging family health, and health disparities in aging families. The Core is led by MPI Hayford, working in close collaboration with MPIs S. Brown, H. Liu, and Reczek, as well as with staff at OSU. The Core will coordinate biweekly meetings of the MPIs; quarterly meetings of the internal Executive Committee; and biannual meetings of the external Advisory Committee, including one annual meeting that includes NIA program officers. The Core will engage both proactively and responsively with the Coordinating Center for the Centers on the Demography and Economics of Aging. Working in close collaboration with the Program Development Core and the Communication and Dissemination Core, the Administrative and Research Support Core will ensure that all required reporting is completed and will verify compliance with all NIH policies and requirements, including data management and sharing.
