Abstract

PROJECT SUMMARY/ABSTRACT: ADMINISTRATIVE CORE The goal of the Admin/Coordination Core (ACC) is to provide administrative leadership and to guarantee that all subunits are interacting and communicating efficiently. The three major functions of the ACC are (1) to provide administrative and clerical support via organizing internal and external meetings, maintaining progress reports, conducting outreach, etc. (2) to manage the award for this grant, and (3) to provide scientific project management support. As the leadership core of the UCI Center for Modeling Non-coding Disease Variants (NODIVA), the ACC’s goal is to ensure the success of the project by managing and supporting the different cores to identify non-coding mutations from the clinic, develop animal and cellular models for these variants, and efficiently distribute them to the scientific community. The ACC will coordinate regular interactions and meetings among the Cores, the Steering Committee, External Advisory Board, and the NIH Program Officials to ensure project progress and oversight. Additionally, the ACC will conduct outreach, recruitment, and collaboration efforts with the research and clinical community and facilitate tracking of the Center’s activities and impact. In summary, the ACC will play the key role in being the management engine for this project and will ultimately ensure its success.
