Abstract
PROJECT SUMMARY â ADMINISTRATIVE CORE The Administrative Core will manage Center activities and support the operational needs of two Biomedical Resource Cores â Biospecimens and Cell Models and Clinical Research. The Administrative Core will meet with Core Directors to prioritize the scientific direction of the research to accomplish the goals of the PKD RRC, coordinate our functions as part of the national consortium, promote communication with the CCS, RTCCs, and NIDDK to operate as a unified consortium, and promote internal and external collaborations. The Administrative Core will work with the Clinical Core to encourage EPOC patients to participate in Patient Engagement Group of the PKD RRC. Our Summer Student Research Program brings together students at different educational levels for a 10-week research and education training program. We focus on a Summer PKD Undergraduate Research Students (SPURS) program supporting up to 4 students and a volunteer program for local high school students. The aims are to (1) Oversee the vision and goals of the PKD Core Center, (2) Prioritize the distribution of resources to support the goals of the cores, (3) Review PKD Core Center activities and productivity, (4) Organize and oversee the educational enrichment program, and (5) Promote communication among the Central Coordinating Site, RTCCs, and NIDDK.
