Abstract

PROJECT SUMMARY – ADMINISTRATIVE CORE The Administrative Core (AC) for the Healthy Idaho Clinical & Translational Research Development (CTR-D) Program will manage, coordinate, integrate, and oversee the activities of the entire program. The CTR-D program’s overall goal is to establish a foundation to support clinical and translational (C&T) research, workforce development, and infrastructure enhancements within our IDeA-eligible state that will empower health research organizations to conduct C&T research on diseases and health challenges faced by the population we serve. The CTR-D program’s administrative structure has been strategically designed to seamlessly coordinate communications between Boise State University (Lead Applicant Institution), Idaho State University (Lead Institution), partnering institutions (University of Idaho and Boise VA Medical Center), and clinical affiliates (Kootenai Health, Idaho Community Health Centers Association, Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, and St. Lukes’ Health System). To support the CTR-D program, the AC has three aims: 1) Provide administrative support and programmatic communication; 2) Build, support, and coordinate all Core-associated activities; and 3) Coordinate programmatic assessment and evaluation. To meet these aims, the AC will provide the strong programmatic leadership and the effective central organization necessary to ensure the CTR-D works efficiently and effectively. The AC will serve as a liaison between the different institutes and CTR-D personnel and will improve and expand workforce development through programmatic activities, as well as coordinating the activities of other Cores. The AC will regularly assess the program as a whole, its individual Cores, and the personnel associated with each component to modify existing programmatic details and allow for constant improvement towards the continued success of the program. In conclusion, the Administrative Core will be the backbone of a successful Healthy Idaho Clinical & Translational Research Development Program.
