Abstract

ADMINISTRATIVE CORE Project Summary The Administrative module will oversee the Vision Core Grant by collaborating with the Principal Investigator, Module Directors, managers, and the External Advisory Board. Our main goal is to optimize and maximize the productivity of each module to have the highest impact on advancing basic and translational vision science research at UCSF. The administrative module will provide infrastructure support for the Vision Core to coordinate, integrate, and evaluate all aspects of Core activity and ensure maximal effectiveness for all vision scientists. It will provide critical resources and services that could not have been supported by individual laboratories. Under the Administrative module management, resource modules will evolve based on the changing needs of the community. They will continue to offer cutting-edge technologies, services, and equipment to all NEI R01 investigators and UCSF vision scientists. · Provide oversight and management of all the modules through the collaborative efforts of the Principal Investigator, module directors, and External Advisory Board. · Ensure modules are easily accessible to all vision scientists with priority given to NEI-R01 holders followed by early investigators seeking NEI-R01s. Provide organizational infrastructure for integration, enhanced coordination, and evaluation of each module. · Set parameters for scheduling, tracking usage, and allocation of resources for each module to ensure that each module remains current and of maximal value to vision scientists. · Reach out to new NEI-funded R01 investigators and UCSF vision researchers to promote the Core and module resources. · Promote Vision research throughout UCSF.
