Abstract

PROJECT SUMMARY/ABSTRACT The Career Enhancement Program (CEP) exists to identify, support, and mentor candidates with promising independent careers in research that addresses cancer differences across populations. The CEP also represents an opportunity to encourage new and established non-translational investigators to consider careers in translational research. In this manner, the program ultimately serves to expand translational research and be a source of translational projects and investigators for the SPORE Program itself. The Specific Aims of the UCSF SPORE CEP are 1. To identify and recruit qualified individuals with promising careers to pursue independent careers. 2. To provide mentorship and career development support for early career-stage investigators through a formal mentoring program. 3. To leverage existing institutional resources for the career development of CEP investigators.
