Abstract
PROJECT SUMMARY The research projects proposed in the Program encompass a wide spectrum of translational AML research activities, ranging from studies in cell lines, animal models, clinically and molecularly annotated tumor samples and other biospecimens, and clinical studies. These studies will generate many different types of data, including biological, clinical, genomic, metabolomics, and molecular data. The Biostatistics and Data Management Core (Core D) will function as a centralized research design and data analytics support team to ensure proper study design, data integrity, accuracy of data analysis, and data management capacity for studies performed within the Program Projects. Core D members will (1) provide biostatistical support for experimental design, power calculation, data analysis, and interpretation for all Program Project research activities, (2) develop or implement novel statistical methodology in support of the scientific objectives of the Program Projects, and (3) provide overall data management and sharing support for all Program Projects. Core D will provide expertise in statistical design, analysis and interpretation of studies as well as the programming and data management expertise needed to ensure rigorous research and promote synergies among the Projects and Cores. Core D will provide comprehensive, efficient, and cost-effective support for innovative translational AML research, ensuring rigor and transparency of analysis, management, and sharing of the data generated by the Program and reproducibility of the analysis results.
