Abstract
The overarching goal of the Tisch Cancer Instituteâs Cancer Research Training and Education Coordination (CRTEC) is to catalyze, integrate, evaluate and disseminate all cancer related education, training and career development activities across the Tisch Cancer Institute. In particular, CRTEC aspires to propel pathway programs to advance a biomedical and healthcare professional cancer research workforce. Home to a Cancer Biology (CAB) Multidisciplinary Training Area (MTA) Doctoral (PhD) program, 4 cancer-relevant T32 training grants, an NCI-funded K12, 4 NCI-funded R25 education programs, 13 ACGME-accredited cancer-focused training programs, and investments in novel pathway programs, CRTEC has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to mentored career development across a continuum of learners. CRTEC has increased overall funding for cancer research training to more than $5M in 2024, including a NCI K12 Paul Calabresi Award in Clinical Oncology Research (PCACOR), reflective of an integrated collaborative effort between CRTEC, Cancer immunology (CI), Cancer Clinical Investigation (CCI), Cancer Mechanisms (CM) and COE.
