Abstract
Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Core Abstract The primary goal of the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Core is to provide a full set of statistical and bioinformatic services to the P01 projects to enhance the projectâs ability to address key questions about the mechanisms of bladder cancerâs development and its therapeutic vulnerabilities to preventive and interventive therapy. The Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Core will serve as a comprehensive, multilateral quantitative resource to all Project investigators and other Cores for hypothesis refinement, the design of clinical, translational, and basic science experiments, data acquisition and management, comprehensive quality control, development and application of innovative and state-of-the-art statistical methodology, statistical and bioinformatic analyses, proper data interpretation, and publishing results through abstracts, papers, and presentations. The Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Core will collaborate with the Project and Core Leaders to accomplish the following specific aims: Aim 1: To provide guidance in the design and conduct of clinical trials, in vitro and in vivo experiments, including genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, single cell sequencing, and spatial transcriptomics to the P01 projects; Aim 2: To provide biostatistical and bioinformatic modeling and data analyses needed by the Projects and other Cores to achieve their Specific Aims; Aim 3: To generate statistical reports for all Projects and assist Project investigators in publishing scientific results, ensuring analyses are properly interpreted and accurately communicated. By providing research expertise and logistic support to the Projectsâ analytical activities, this Core will contribute to the professional, efficient, and rigorous use of the data generated by each Project and will be critical to the success of basic and translational research in bladder cancer and the overall P01.
