Abstract
Administrative Core Summary The Administrative Core plays a central and critical organizational role in the success of our proposed P01 program project. Dr. Bogdan Czerniak, Administrative Core Leader and the PI for this project, with the support of the P01 co-PI, Dr. David McConkey, will facilitate the function and interactions of all projects and cores. The PI and co-PI will co-chair the program projectâs Executive Committee, which is composed of all project and core leaders. The P01 administrator will work closely with Drs. Czerniak and McConkey to schedule all meetings with investigators and provide timely communication with the investigators both within and outside The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. All budgets and their modifications as well as fiscal and progress reports will be based on NCI recommendations and discussions by the Executive Committee. The Administrative Core will also ensure compliance with all regulations related to research integrity and the protection of patient rights. The specific aims of the Administrative Core are as follows: 1) to monitor and oversee all research activities of the P01 program project; 2) to facilitate and promote communication and integration among the P01 program project and the bladder cancer-related research programs at MD Anderson and the collaborating institutions, including the NCI Cancer Center Support (Core) Grant-funded resources; 3) to monitor and oversee scientific integrity and compliance with all institutional and governmental regulations and requirements, including data quality controls for the Bioinformatics and Pathology cores; 4) to schedule and convene all meetings, including those of the Executive Committee as well as the Internal and External Advisory Boards; 5) to oversee expenditures and prepare all financial reports; 6) to communicate and consult with the NCI Project Leader and other NCI staff to prepare all necessary internal and external reports; 7) to establish and monitor policies for women and minorities in this program and their related clinical interventions;8) to encourage communications and collaborations with NCI- and other agency-funded groups interested in translational bladder cancer research; and 9) to encourage and promote pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry interaction with this P01 program project.
