Abstract

Program Director/Principal Investigator (Last, First, Middle): STERGIOU, NICK Project Summary DESCRIPTION (provided by applicant): The overall goal of the Administrative Core (ADMIN) is to coordinate the development, high-impact functioning, and sustainability of the Center for Research in Human Movement Variability (MOVCENTR) at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. This core is crucial in facilitating meaningful interactions and insightful input from key stakeholders, such as investigators, leadership, core directors, technical staff, and consultants. Additionally, it supports the scientific cores and COBRE research plans that address center, university, and national/international priorities in our field. We administer a highly interconnected program that aligns with the needs of the user base and COBRE initiatives to take optimal advantage of the university's resources for the COBRE to exert a sustained, powerful influence on restoring healthy human movement variability across a range of movement disorders. The Executive Committee (EC), which includes the PD/PI (Stergiou) as Chair, the Core Directors, the Financial Administrator, and the Program Coordinator, as well as the Advisory Committee (AC), provides input and support to PD/PI to oversee the ADMIN and manage all necessary operations. The EC and AC are comprised of individuals with a wide range of experience and skills in research and administration. The ADMIN combines a comprehensive assessment strategy, sound operations and budgetary management, cooperation with NIGMS program staff, a highly successful pilot project program, and strong visionary leadership to ensure financial sustainability and programming effectiveness.
