Abstract

ABSTRACT – ADMINISTRATIVE CORE Centralized administration is critical for efficient program management, coordination, and execution. The Administrative (Admin Core) will provide all logistical, scientific, managerial, financial, data management and statistical support to facilitate and to coordinate the studies described in this P01 program. The Admin Core will ensure that all the Projects and Cores function optimally and adhere to the timelines and milestones described in this grant. The Admin Core will organize regular meetings, maintain regulatory approvals, provide fiscal and logistic oversight, coordinate meetings and annual site visits with the External Advisory Committee (EAC) and NIAID Program Officials to support this P01 program, liaise with HVTN clinical protocol teams, and provide centralized data management and data analysis support for all preclinical studies for this program. This detailed administration and management structure will ensure that all the studies function efficiently and remain focused on the overall objective maximizing the opportunities to speed the initiation of a pediatric HIV vaccine in humans. To achieve these goals, the Administrative Core proposes the following Specific Aims: Aim 1: Provide overall management and coordination of the program to foster collaboration, interactions, and scientific progress. Aim 2: Manage and execute data management, publication, and data sharing plans. Aim 3: Provide centralized biostatistics support. Aim 4: Ensure compliance with all institutional, state, and federal legal, accounting, and scientific guidelines.
