Abstract

The Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center (IUSCCC) is Indiana’s only NCI- designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and is dedicated to cancer research, education, and patient care for the residents of Indiana and beyond. Our Vision is that Research Cures Cancer. Our Mission is to create an expanding community of researchers and health professionals who conduct outstanding research, provide excellence in education, and deliver high-quality patient-centered care. In both our Vision and Mission, it is our responsibility to engage in ethical collaborative research and practice with external partners, and we will foster and promote an environment of respect, collegiality, and broad participation both within and outside of IUSCCC as we contribute to lifting the burden of cancer in Indiana. This Vision and Mission will be accomplished by IUSCCC members and trainees conducting the continuum of basic research in the biologic mechanisms of cancer through impactful translation to our patients, populations, and society.
