Abstract
Data Management, Informatics, and Statistics (DMIS) Core There is great need to advance the use of multimodal data visualization and analyses in ADRD. In particular, the field has increasingly used novel digital biomarkers such as voice, electronic health record, and smart phone data, along with an exponential increase in molecular data outputs. There is a critical need for a comprehensive infrastructure and services to support and assess these novel biomarkers. Beyond the infrastructure, there also remain critical gaps in harmonization, quality assurance, and assessing for bias to ensure the quality, accessibility, and usability of multimodal longitudinal data. Recent advances in advances in AD research methodologies, data sciences, AI applications and the wide data-sharing and open-science requirements necessitate a core that will be able to carry out a highly sophisticated and diverse set of activities. To bridge these gaps, we bring together a highly experienced and specialized team capable of centralizing the data, statistical, and informatics needs. The NT-ADRC Data Management, Informatics, and Statistics (DMIS) core leverages diverse expertise with robust informatics, statistics, and clinical and research data warehousing and resources to achieve the DMIS core overall aim to provide the data, statistical, and informatics infrastructure for NT- ADRC investigators and developmental projects, facilitate data sharing and dissemination, and provide training and support to the Center Research Education Component (REC) scholars. The DMIS core will facilitate the sharing of data with the National Alzheimerâs Coordinating Center (NACC) and other ADRCs and will serve as a unifying node of our Cores providing diverse data science and informatic approaches to NT-ADRC investigators and internal or external collaborators. Led by a highly experienced and scientifically diverse team, this core will: (1) Develop and maintain data management and visualization infrastructure (ADExplorer along with a Participant Management Database) for the NT-ADRC to facilitate participant identification, recruitment, and management; electronic data capture; integration of EHR data; and biospecimen management while supporting data requests and sharing with NACC, SCAN, NCRAD and other local, regional and national initiatives; (2) Provide statistical support in study design, and data analysis for NT-ADRC and affiliated investigators; (3) Provide specialized data science and informatics support of the NT-ADRC and affiliated investigators; and (4) Provide training and educational opportunities for Research Education Component (REC) scholars and NT-ADRC and affiliated investigators.
