Abstract

Administrative Core Abstract The Administrative Core for the Phase 2 Oklahoma Center for Microbial Pathogenesis & Immunity will provide key support across the COBRE program. The Administrative Core includes seven specific aims designed to ensure the center follows federal regulations, manage the programs budget, organize the center’s activities, and evaluate the centers performance each year. The Administrative Core is led by Dr. Jimmy Ballard and also includes two associate directors to oversee mentoring, RPL grant development, and strategic planning needed to keep this COBRE program at the leading edge of new technologies, innovations, and research approaches. The pilot project will be led by a senior faculty member and will support one project each year. The advisory committee includes three outstanding leaders in the field and two internal members who are experienced administrators at OUHSC. The advisory committee will provide program evaluation based on achieving milestones and meeting goals for key performance indicators. The team of the PI, associate directors, pilot project director, and the advisory committee will work together to ensure the Phase 2 Oklahoma Center for Microbial Pathogenesis and Immunity COBRE remains on positive trajectory to becoming an independent center of excellence in the State of Oklahoma.
