Abstract

PROJECT SUMMARY/ABSTRACT – ADMINISTRATIVE CORE The Administrative and Clinical Research Core provides the operational structure necessary for the planning, implementation and management of all P01 activities and promotes the efficient, progressive and successful conduct consistent with the program goals and P01 mission. It also provides administrative coordination, oversight and research support services to all leaders, co-leaders, investigators and core directors. A website, which includes secure intranet pages and forms, is used to more efficiently communicate and track P01 resource requests and manage shared resources and core services to best serve P01 projects and themes. The Core promotes efficiency and ensures that all P01 research and activities are focused and connected, complex scientific objectives are met, and existing cancer center resources are utilized and not duplicated. Finally, the Core provides required project oversight, monitoring and auditing to ensure projects are meeting stated endpoints consistent with the P01 research plan and adhering to all regulatory requirements. SPECIFIC AIMS Aim 1: Establish and oversee a capable and responsive administrative apparatus to support the FACTR Center’s scientific goals and operational needs. Aim 2: Coordinate research interactions (meetings, collaborations, etc.) between the Projects and Cores. Aim 3: Coordinate scientific communications between the DTSPC Program leadership, the NCI, and the broader prostate cancer community to establish and sustain partnerships and further the overall goals of the Program. Aim 4: Provide fiscal oversight and assist with obtaining compliance approvals (IRB, IACUC) for the Projects and Cores in accordance with Federal, State, and institutional requirements. Aim 5: Coordinate and represent the DTSPC Program within the administrative and scientific structures of the participating institutions. Aim 6: Organize and conduct timely meetings with the Scientific Advisory Board. Aim 7: Manage and oversee clinical research needs of the DTSPC research projects.
