Abstract

ADMINISTRATIVE CORE – ABSTRACT The overall objectives of the Administrative Core are to: 1. provide administrative support for the Program; 2. provide organizational support for the Program; 3. provide scientific management of the Program; and 4. provide administrative services for the clinical trial conducted within the Program. The Program is a collaboration between a strong team of investigators and multiple cancer centers and is led by two MPIs, Drs. Kimberly Leslie and Jay Gertz, with outstanding leadership skills and synergistic expertise in endometrial cancer research. The Program consists of four Projects and three Cores and is overseen by a Leadership Council comprised of PIs and Project Leaders as well as the leader of the Diversity and Patient Advocacy Committee. The Program benefits from the engagement and oversight of the Internal and External Advisory Boards. The principal collaborating institutions are the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah, the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa, and the University of Kansas Cancer Center. The cancer centers have generously pledged additional funds to supplement the activities of the Program, including funding the acquisition of new preliminary data relating to endometrial cancer prevention and treatment through a pilot project grant opportunity to be overseen within the Administrative Core. By efficiently and effectively achieving these objectives, the Administrative Core will ensure that our clinical trial meets enrollment milestones in terms of both numbers and diversity; trial participants receive excellent care; Projects progress on time and within budget or are amended; results are reported accurately; and interactions with the Cores and Projects are smooth and beneficial. The Administrative Core will help the Program flourish as a result of visionary and collaborative leadership. The Program will benefit greatly from the Administrative Core’s thoughtful communication, strong oversight and creative support.
