Abstract
PROJECT SUMMARY CANCER CENTER ADMINISTRATION The overall mission of The Jackson Laboratory Cancer Center (JAXCC) is to bring genomic solutions to cancer medicine. We continue to develop a culture of scientific discovery, excellence, transdisciplinary research, and collaboration to yield tangible benefits to cancer patients extending beyond the generation of new knowledge. This mission is supported by the Jackson Laboratory Cancer Center (JAXCC) Administration (Admin) Core. The Admin Core plays a crucial role in overseeing and streamlining key processes to efficiently accomplish the JAXCC's Strategic Objectives. It also serves as the central hub facilitating cross-disciplinary and cross-campus collaborations. The Admin Core is directly responsible for management of the following: the strategic plan, CCSG reporting and the renewal application, Cancer Center budgets and philanthropic funds, internal Developmental Funds award, membership, and cancer relevance assessment processes, Governance and upholding standard operating procedures, ensuring policy maintenance across the Center, Center management Committees, and Center collaborative meetings and events, as well as their documentation. Admin supports the Shared Resources Management team to monitor and assess usage. Additionally, Admin assists the Director in preparation for Bar Harbor and Farmington Space Committee discussions and with aspects of faculty recruitment, including overseeing JAXCC membership invitation letters. Admin is a dedicated management team consisting of an Associate Director for Administration (AD Admin), who is a member of the JAXCC Senior Leadership, and two Assistant Directors of Administration (AstD Admin), one at each of our research campuses in Bar Harbor, ME and Farmington, CT. This facilitates effective liaising with Center members and institutional offices. Admin integrates institutional and JAXCC administrative and operational processes to achieve the following Specific Aims: Aim 1: Support the JAXCC Director in ensuring implementation and accountability for the Strategic plan and Center governance; Aim 2: Support JAXCC Senior Leadership in building transdisciplinary cancer research and team science; and Aim 3: Sustain and advance CCSG-related administrative activities.
