Abstract
ABSTRACT The Collaborative Research Core (CRC) coordinates and provides programming that enables student and faculty research and training collaborations across the NH-INBRE Network â 9 Partner and 2 Lead/Co-Lead institutions â as well as with other regional IDeA and NIH-supported Centers and Programs, and across the US through our Data Science Core, industry/consultant affiliates, and the NH-INBRE student alumni network. The NH-INBRE spans the state of New Hampshire, with Dartmouth as the Lead, and the University of New Hampshire, Durham (UNH-D) as the Co-Lead; and Partner schools that are highly variable in their focus on biomedical research areas and their infrastructure capabilities. NH-INBRE Network Partners consist of 8 primarily undergraduate institutions (PUI-P), including 3 NH State and 5 private 4-yr schools, and the Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH). The overarching goal of the CRC is to connect students and faculty with others who have similar career and research goals by developing, leveraging, and supporting collaborative activities among NH- INBRE Partners across our network; bi-directionally with other NIH grant programs, especially regionally with Northeast IDeA COBREs and INBREs; and nationally, in particular via the NH-INBRE Data Science Core, our widely dispersed INBRE alumni, and outside consultants/experts. To achieve this goal, we will significantly expand the impact of INBRE by intentionally targeting and leveraging collaborations. The CRC will identify collaborative opportunities and participating groups, develop win-win goals and approaches, and implement and evaluate the impact of these existing and nascent programs. These collaborative activities and programs go beyond the goals assigned to the Administrative or DRPP Core and often require higher level leadership buy-in â conceptually, and financially with co-sponsored support to targeted collaborative groups. Overall, CRC goals are to effectively identify, organize, and provide support - both intellectual and material resources - to enhance collaborative research and training.
