Abstract
The Administrative Core (AC) of the Louisiana Biomedical Research Network (LBRN) oversees the coordination of various programs, including the Developmental Research Project Program (DRPP). Its responsibilities include managing cores (MCBRC and DSBC2), selecting research projects, evaluating progress, and organizing discussions on program policies. The AC is comprised of key personnel including the Program Director/Principal Investigator (PD/PI), Program Coordinator (PC), Program Manager (PM). Additionally, there are committees like the Steering Committee (SC) and Executive Committee (EC) and External Advisory Committee (EAC) involving representatives from primarily undergraduate institutions (PUIs) to provide direction and support for LBRN and a dedicated mentoring chair that oversees all mentors. Evaluation of LBRN activities is conducted through surveys and discussions with various committees by an internal evaluation committee (LSU SREC). The AC has specific aims to provide leadership, manage research projects and programs, and organize activities for research, career development, and curriculum enhancement. Overall, LBRN plays a crucial role in advancing biomedical research in Louisiana.
