Abstract
The Administrative Core will provide administrative, communication and oversight for the three projects and the shared resource single cell analysis core that comprise the program. The Core will establish and manage the organizational framework of the program; implement and evaluate strategies for enhancing diversity and inclusion; and provide logistical support for program members. The Core will supervise a Program Project Administrator and a Data Manager. The latter will be responsible for ensuring that research and training software tools and data produced by the Program are available for use internally as well as to the NCI Cancer Systems Biology Consortium, through the Multi-Consortia Coordinating (MC2) Center. The Core will facilitate and guide communication among program project members by the participation of program faculty and affiliates in the research group meetings of the projects and through weekly meetings involving all program project researchers. The Core will organize an annual retreat to foster synergy among program project faculty and affiliates. The Core will facilitate membership of program faculty in the NCI Cancer Systems Biology Consortium (CSBC) so that they may participate in consortium activities. In addition, the Data Science Manager will facilitate sharing of program resources, including datasets, software tools and training toolkits, with the MC2 center. The Core will provide scientific and budgetary oversight of the Center by soliciting and reviewing annual progress reports from the three projects, and the single cell analysis core. The Core will appoint an External Advisory Board, which will provide annual reviews of the program project as a whole. The Core will provide progress reports back to the NCI. The Core will oversee strategic planning and the implementation of decision-making mechanisms for the scientific direction and the budgeting of funds. The Core will provide guidance on ownership, authorship and sharing of data, will resolve disputes and will implement a succession plan if any of the MPIs or project leaders need to be replaced.
