Abstract
Summary (Administrative Core) The Program Project âConvergent Epigenetic Control of Diverse Neuroendocrine Cancersâ has 3 Projects and one Shared Resource Core. The Administrative Core will be responsible for the smooth logistics of this Program. The three Projects are led by six faculty-rank Leaders that rely on extensive collaborations that will be coordinated by the Administrative Core. The Administrative Core will provide significant and effective administrative support to achieve the scientific objectives of the program, namely, to enhance our understanding of neuroendocrine cancers arising from prostate, lung, intestine, and skin tissues. To accomplish these goals, the Administrative Core has three Specific Aims. Specific Aim 1: Provide leadership and administrative expertise to enable a Program focused on Neuroendocrine Cancers. The Administrative Core is responsible for the financial accounting for the Program, Projects, and Cores and deals with the research administration offices of the participating institutions on financial and protocol issues Specific Aim 2: To facilitate collegiality, collaboration, coordination, and communication across the Program. The Administrative Core will monitor the progress of the Projects and the Epigenomics Core, arrange for the Monthly Program Lab Meeting, Quarterly Meeting with all Project and Epigenomics co-Leaders and the Epigenomics Core Leaders, and an Annual Retreat for the entire Program including members of the External Advisory Board. Specific Aim 3: To further the training and development of scientists. The Administrative Core will promote the training of post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, and other laboratory personnel. The Program is far more than 3 individual Projects, as there are close and extensive collaborations among the Projects and with the Epigenomics Core. The Administrative Core ensures that these collaborations are synergistic and collegial, and that they promote efficiency in the use of limited resources, including use of the Epigenomics Core.
