Abstract
RESEARCH ANALYTICS CORE SUMMARY The AK INBRE 5 Research Analytics Core provides capacity to acquire advanced analytical data to the AK INBRE 5 and RAIN networks in support of One Health thematic research projects. Three laboratory facilities that were supported during AK INBRE 4 will receive support to augment their current capacities and continue serving investigators and students in the network. The RAC will provide accessibility to cutting-edge instrumentation, training, and expert consultation at the Alaska Genomics Facility, the Alaska Center for Chemical Analysis, and the Alaska Stable Isotope Facility. Each of these facilities have a successful business model that fits their respective base and have an established history of student mentorship and involvement in biomedical research. Alaska covers a large geographic area and contains few analytical facilities to service the needs of biomedical researchers; to support and enhance this limited capacity, the RAC provides opportunities to receive mentorship on the techniques, applications, and methodologies associated with advanced modern instrumentation, especially to undergraduate students under AK INBRE 5. The RAC will build on investments made during AK INBRE 4 by empowering biomedical researchers to utilize newly acquired and state-of-the-art analytical systems and create partnerships with the Student Research Program, the Data Science Core, and the Administrative Core, among others. This will integrate many capacities of AK INBRE 5.
