Abstract
PROJECT SUMMARY/ABSTRACT: Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Resource Core (BBRC) During the inaugural funding cycle of Emory Universityâs U54 NIH/ORWH-funded Specialized Center of Research Excellence on Sex Differences (Emory SCORE), the overall objective of the Biostatistics Resource Core (BRC) was to enhance the success of the Emory SCORE research program. We accomplished this through high quality collaborative support in biostatistics, data management, and SCORE-related education and training, including assistance with study design, implementation, data collection, analysis, and publication. This has been a successful approach that we will replicate and build on in the next cycle. In the current proposal, we will continue to focus on data collection, management, and analysis for the SCOREâs tripartite, longitudinal Bone, Brain, and Heart (B/B/H) study and on SCORE-related education and training. In addition, we will further strengthen the SCOREâs science by adding bioinformatics expertise to the Core, converting the Biostatistics Resource Core into the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Resource Core (BBRC). This will enable us to apply valuable omics (metabolomics, metagenomics) insights to B/B/H research questions and provide additional resources for SCORE-related education and training.
