Abstract
This Interagency Agreement establishes a formal collaborative relationship between the NIAID, NIH and AFRRI, an element of USUHS, DoD, through which the Parties will collaborate on radiobiology research and development projects. NIAIDâs primary focus remains in the areas of infectious diseases and biodefense research for the nation, although the NIAID Radiation and Nuclear Countermeasures Program (RNCP) is focused on diagnostics and treatments to address injuries resulting from a radiological or nuclear public health emergency. AFRRIâs primary interest is centered on health hazards associated with radiation exposure, with particular emphasis on the military population.
