Abstract
The Training, Diversity and Health Equity (TiDHE) Office at NHGRI plans to evaluate historical trends in awardee and applicant demographics across grant classes and compare NHGRI trends with overall NIH trends. The results of the analysis will help provide guidance on future decisions concerning potential changes and/or improvements to our extramural program to align with NHGRI's programmatic objectives, including support of our goal to enhance diversity within the genomics workforce. The Office will evaluate NHGRIâs support of new investigators and early-stage investigators as an indication of: 1) how well NHGRI is broadening the number of our supported investigators and 2) NHGRIâs track record of supporting new and early-stage investigators. TiDHE will also evaluate demographic trends related to gender, race, ethnicity, place of birth, citizenship, education, disability status, and disadvantaged status. The primary goal of the contract is to support robust, predictive demographic applicant analysis to identify the likelihood of future funding outcomes based on existing historical demographic data. Ripple Effect will identify and propose appropriate analyses after reviewing the data and discussing and understanding NHGRIâs analytic goals, execute the analyses, and create documentation and provide guidance and support to NHGRI.
