Abstract

In the past year, SCAF has provided support to over 100 research projects from more than 40 laboratories at the NCI Center for Cancer Research. Collaborative support utilizing cutting edge single cell and spatial technologies provided high resolution insights into biological mechanisms across a range of research projects. This work included the profiling of cellular and tissue heterogeneity using high throughput droplet-based single cell genomics to better understand the tumor microenvironment, the immune system and its response to disease, and biological response to various therapeutic strategies. The SCAF team also continued to explore new technologies and methods, and began collaborative support for new spatial profiling assays which provides a better understanding of the heterogeneity of cell types and transcriptional programs in a native tissue context. SCAF also continued to be committed to sharing its expertise and experience with the greater NIH community, and has been active in providing consultations, presentations, and support for relevant scientific interest groups.
