Abstract
The Hertzano team transitioned successfully from the University of Maryland School of Medicine to the NIDCD. (a) All existing staff at the UMSOM elected to join the lab at the NIDCD and were onboarded; (b) A new research fellow and two post-bacs were recruited; (c) Major equipment purchased includes: Nikon confocal microscope; -80 freezer; PCR machines; microtome; gel documentation system. (d) Animal protocols were established and approved; (e) A biosafety protocol was signed; (f) The animal colony was transitioned, completed quarantine and is back to breeding.
