Abstract
The collaborative team aims to identify novel small molecule inhibitors of GPx1 and GPx4 that have potential as anticancer therapeutics. The team has produced and purified active selenocysteine-containing recombinant human GPx1 and GPx4 using a novel method. Subsequent screening of annotated and diversity libraries yielded several promising hits of both GPx1 and GPx4. These hits are undergoing more specific characterization, and a resynthesis of the top GPx4 scaffolds is ongoing for reconfirmation and the possibility of continued SAR.
