Abstract
The Childrenâs National Hospital (CNH) and NIAID Partnership continues to support pediatric research initiatives across both institutions. Currently, there are 4 joint research protocols, 3 of which are actively enrolling, the Primary Immunodeficiency (PID), Food Allergy and Asthma, Lyme Disease, and Neuroimmune Protocol. Please see abstracts below. Another overarching goal of the partnership is to provide joint training opportunities for investigators studying and caring for children with infectious, immunology, and allergic diseases. The joint Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Training Program continues to recruit and train 4 fellows annually. As of June 2023, 24 exceptional pediatric Allergy and Immunology fellows have entered the program, 16 of which have completed their training. In April 2023, the CNH-NIAID Partnership Co-hosted with the Pediatric Pandemic Network, the sixth annual, two-day CNH-NIAID Hybrid Symposium. The event focused on promoting child health, from environmental challenges to pandemic. The event was a success with more than 270 national and international attendees each day and 2200 page views on the partnership website from January 2023 to May 2023
