Abstract
In the past year, we have continued our analysis of spatial transcriptomics data from aging murine brains. We found evidence of microglia activation and neutrophil infiltration in the aging brain which we validated using flow cytometry and immunofluorescence. Interestingly, these changes occurred prominently in the white matter fiber tracts which led us to hypothesize that this area may show structural damage. We confirmed with MRI that this was indeed the case (in collaboration with Dr. Dan Benjamini).
