Abstract
PROJECT SUMMARY Trainees enter the Launching Future Leaders in Global Health Research Training Program (LAUNCH) with varying levels of methodologic skills required to become successful scientists: from collecting, cleaning and storing research data, to analyzing and preparing data for publication. In partnership with the seven LAUNCH consortia, the NPGH LEADERs program is requesting supplemental funding to lead development and implementation of two-day research methodology workshops in Bethesda, MD the weekend preceding the 2023 LAUNCH Orientation. Planned for July 8-9, 2023, the workshops will include one qualitative section and two quantitative sections (one for trainees with little to no experience with data collection or analysis, and an advanced section for trainees with significant data analysis experience). The workshop will be open to trainees of all consortia, as well as trainees supported by the Fulbright-Fogarty Program. The workshops will be led by experienced research methodologists - the majority prior Global Health Fellows/LAUNCH trainees - with PhDs in quantitative or qualitative fields (e.g. epidemiology, biostatistics, anthropology, social sciences).
