Abstract
FOA PAR-23-072 2024 Laboratory Flexible Funding Model Meeting Summary APHL has the experience and competence to effectively host a high-quality Laboratory Flexible Funding Model (LFFM) Meeting in the south-central U.S. in February of 2024 using the approach described in the proposal. This meeting will allow scientists who are funded through FDA's LFFM but located across the U.S. to interact with FDA funding partners and other leaders to exchange the latest information related to testing under the chemistry, microbiology, and radiochemistry LFFM tracks. Interactions of this nature in the setting of the LFFM Meeting will enable public health and regulatory officials to improve available testing data on food contamination and reduce foodborne illnesses and deaths. This purpose aligns with ORA's commitment to build integrated laboratory capacity and capability and support the generation of defensible state data for regulatory action.
