Abstract

FOA PAR-23-072 2023 GenomeTrakr Meeting Summary-Abstract APHL has the experience and competence to effectively host a high-quality 2023 GenomeTrakr Meeting in College Park, MD, in October of 2023 using the approach described in the proposal. This meeting will allow participants of the GenomeTrakr (GT) Network from across the U.S. and worldwide to interact with network leadership to exchange the latest information on sample collection, whole genome sequencing protocols, data submission, standardized metadata ontologies, and data analysis software. Explorations of this nature in the setting of the GT Meeting will enable public health officials to speed outbreak investigations and reduce foodborne illnesses and deaths. This purpose aligns with ORA's commitment to building integrated laboratory capacity and capability and supporting the groundbreaking work achieved through the GT network.
